Peak Publications Society
As the Production and Design Editor at The Peak, I create and customize print layouts on InDesign, design cover typography, commission illustrators for art pieces, and manage two design assistants. Together, we assemble a new paper weekly.

The Peak
Tools: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
Timeline: 2023 - present
The Peak is Simon Fraser University's student newspaper, operating since 1965. I began as an Assistant Production Editor, responsible for typesetting weekly print layouts. In 2024, I was promoted to Production and Design Editor, which extended my duties to managing the Assistant Production Editors and handling all design duties at The Peak.
Custom Layouts
Most of The Peak's layout designs are through templates I upkeep. Custom layouts are made for pieces with particularly long or intriguing narratives, prompting more visual exploration.

Covers
The Peak's covers begin as prompts from the editors and writers. All illustration covers are commissioned directly by me to a trusted student contributor, where we exchange ideas and drafts back and forth across a one-week period. The photography covers are handled by our Photo Editor. In both cases, I edit the images as necessary and create the typography.
